Accu-Fit Prosthetics, LLC was
established in November of 2003. The company was developed by a
tissue banking professional with 15 years experience in the field.
With the experience of nearly 1000 tissue donor restorations, and
the input of other veteran recovery professionals with similar
backgrounds, the Accu-Fit system was created. The Accu-Fit system is
currently patent pending. Patent approval is expected in 2006.
In response to Funeral Director frustrations with the use of PVC
prosthetics, Accu-Fit developed a line of prosthetic devices that
could be safely cremated along with the tissue donor without causing
damage to the crematory chamber. This saves Funeral Directors time
and money by not having to remove them prior to cremation. It also
prevents the need to repair possible long term damage to the
crematory chamber.
Tissue recovery specialists will enjoy
using these lightweight, quick and easy to use devices. The Accu-Fit
design utilizes an internal locking mechanism allowing for the most
accurate length adjustment. No tools, pins or twist-ties are
required. No sharp screws are present which prevents possible
injury. Simulated hips, knees, ankles, elbows and shoulders help to
fill voids following bone recovery. Fewer lap sponges and packing
materials are necessary to complete restoration. The use of fewer
supplies and less restoration time saves money.
Many of the Accu-Fit components are factory made for strength and
precision. High density, moisture resistant tubing, wooden rods and
foam elements compose this design. These pieces are fully consumed
during cremation. Each locking mechanism requires one steel bolt for
strength. These are easily removed magnetically from the cremation
chamber following cremation.
